About the event
I’m excited to be partnering with SOCAP Australia to deliver Conciliation Introduction on Wednesday 6 May 2026.
This practical online workshop is designed for professionals who engage with complaints, regulators, tribunals, industry ombudsmen and external dispute resolution processes. It offers a clear introduction to how conciliation works in practice, why it is used by dispute resolution bodies, and what organisations need to know to participate effectively when complaints escalate.
Participants will gain practical insights into the purpose and principles of conciliation, how it differs from mediation and investigation, common pitfalls that can increase legal, reputational and relationship risk, and strategies to improve outcomes while maintaining constructive working relationships. The session will also cover how to prepare for conciliation, manage difficult dynamics and strong emotions, and use questioning and listening skills to support resolution.
Date: Wednesday 6 May 2026
Time: 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm AEST
Venue: Virtual Classroom
